Kingpin (1996) - ★☆☆☆☆

With a horrific poster like this, I guess it should come as
no surprise that I did not enjoy this movie.
Something you might not know if you're not a huge Woody fan like I am is that he isn't a great bowler. This will come as a major surprise to you if you've seen the 1996 blockbuster Kingpin, where Woody plays a man who is actually really good at bowling. Even though Woody's character doesn't end up winning the big bowling tournament, he still comes in second, which is a pretty big deal. I think it's a testament to Woody's incredible acting abilities that he delivers a totally convincing performance of someone who is a good bowler when in reality he is not a good bowler at all. I guess that's why we consider him to be one of the greatest actors of our time!

Other than Woody's dazzling performance as a good bowler, this movie only has a few things going for it:

  1.  It's about bowling, which is my favorite sport.
  2. It has Amish people in it. (However I think this film's portrayal of them was pretty stereotyped, which I did not appreciate!)
  3. Woody has some truly excellent fashion moments.
  4. I really liked Woody's sparkly gold bowling ball.
I would wear both of these outfits.
Overall I didn't really like this movie. I didn't hate it, but I will also never watch it again.

No Country For Old Men (2007) - ★★★★☆

I think it's interesting that this, the second movie I've viewed on this grand adventure with a motif of tube-related crime, is called 'No Country For Old Men,' because something I noticed while watching it was that there were actually a couple old men in it, and they don't even die. I think that some would have me believe it is called this because it is a line from a famous poem, and is a reference to the disillusionment Sheriff Ed Tom Bell (an old man) feels with these modern times.... kids have green hair and nose piercings, and guys do violence with tubes. He probably feels like he doesn't belong in Texas anymore because of all these crazy kids and their newfangled violence, thus making the country not one which is for an old man. Nonetheless, he's there, and time sort of goes on no matter what, and things have always been bad in one way or another. He should probably get over it. That being said, I have a few ideas of other names this movie (yeah, I kno...

The Hi-Lo Country (1998) - ★★★★★

A shockingly underrated and under-talked about Woody Harrelson masterpiece. Reminsicent of the classic Marty Robbins banger, "Tall Handsome Stranger," this is a must watch for cowboy fans and Woody Harrelson fans alike. Unequivocally Woody's best cowboy role!!!!!

LBJ (2016) - ★☆☆☆☆

I'm horrified! They should not have done this to Woody! Why did they need to make his ears so damn big? And get rid of his beautiful blue eyes?? I had a specific memory of watching an HBO movie about LBJ in 2016 and liking it, so I was expecting this to be good—little did I know, HBO made two movies about LBJ in 2016 and this is apparently the bad one! And when I say bad, I mean bad! Etc., etc. There's a much more important issue that needs to be discussed.  Please take a moment to think about this question: What color hair did JFK have? If you said dark grey, you'd be like me. I mean, look at this picture and tell me that's not what color it is! Well, color me surprised, because apparently this is a black and white photo and that means that even though everything in it looks to be various shades of grey, that's actually due to a specific type of photographic technology which is not capable of reproducing colors.  Okay. Fine. Whatever. If this picture is concealing ...
